Jared Schmidt, CFP®

Jared Schmidt assists his clients with wealth management at the Atlanta office of United Capital Financial Advisors. He helps clients identify their unique goals, life plans, and what matters to them most. From there, Jared works alongside his clients to create a road map that is collaborative, comprehensive, and designed to give them the time and confidence to live the lives they want.

Prior to joining the United Capital team, Jared worked for Goldman Sachs as both a trader and wealth advisor. In 2005, Jared joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s (GSAM) Operations division in New York, where he focused on derivative trade management. From 2008 to 2017, Jared was a trader for GSAM’s hedge fund platform where he traded corporate bonds, loans, and derivatives for both public and private funds. Moving back to Atlanta in 2017, Jared became an advisor for Goldman’s Ultra-High Net Worth clients in the Private Wealth Management (PWM) division until 2021 when he transitioned to United Capital.

Jared earned a BBA in Economics and a minor in Political Science from the University of Georgia. He previously served on the Shepherd Center’s “Summer in the City” board and UGA’s Young Alumni Board for the Terry College. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.

Jared and his wife Morgan have a daughter, a son, and another boy on the way. They enjoy traveling as a family and pursuing their faith. Jared also loves to play golf, fly airplanes, and listen to live music.
