John Capets
Managing Director
Serving as Managing Director, John focuses on advising clients on all facets of financial planning at United Capital Financial Advisors. In addition, he lends his more than 40 years of financial services experience to the Charlotte team and its clients in an advisory capacity.
In 1991, John helped found Harbor Capital Management, Inc., which joined United Capital in 2021. He also worked as a consultant for Corporate Plans & Services and represented multiple broker-dealers, including Capital Investment Group and Goldman Sachs & Co.
John is a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. He earned his degree of Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
John and his wife, Sally, reside in Huntersville, NC, and have three adult sons, three daughters-in-law and two grandchildren. Along with Sally, John enjoys a number of active pursuits, including hiking, biking, sailing, planning excursions and executing those plans.
