Sonja Larimore, J.D., IACCP®, AIF®
Chief Compliance Officer
As the firm's Chief Compliance Officer, Sonja is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with SEC regulations as well as addressing regulatory risks, reviewing and updating the firms’ policies and procedures and managing the day-to-day compliance activities and controls. She ensures that the firm's policies and procedures are adhered to and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Sonja has been in the RIA industry for over 20 years with over 15 years of experience in compliance.
Sonja graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in May of 2020. While there, she was the Managing Editor of the Law Review and President of Women’s Law Association. In October of 2019, she was published in the Thomas Jefferson Law Review—Child Soldiering and How the United States Can Up its Game Against Those States That Still Continue This Practice. The Note recommends an amendment to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008. She also has her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from San Diego State University.
Sonja received her Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP®) designation in July 2010. The IACCP signifies an understanding of the Dodd-Frank Act, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. In March of 2015, she received her Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) that certifies the thorough knowledge of the fiduciary standards of care and prudent practices. She has been a Notary Public for the State of California since 2010.
Sonja is a volunteer attorney for Casa Cornelia Law Center, a 501(c)3, that provides legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations. She has worked on numerous cases including asylum, children of domestic violence, and Violence Against Women’s Act cases.
In her spare time, she teaches Jazzercise (over 18 years), loves to read mysteries, and spend time with her adopted cats and dogs (4 in total).
