Trudy Turner is responsible for counseling clients on investment opportunities, in alignment with the client's needs, goals and tolerance for risk at the Dallas office of United Capital Financial Advisors.
Since 2000, Trudy has been focused on her dual passion of improving the lives of both her clients and her financial planning colleagues, bringing over two decades of financial services experience in wealth management, public accounting, and insurance underwriting.
Trudy received a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Accountancy degree from the University of North Texas. She has also earned CPA/PFS and CFP® designations.
Not only is financial planning her profession, but Trudy also feels it's her calling. When working with clients, Trudy is focused on ensuring clients define what success means to them in terms of their financial and life goals. She aims to steward clients toward building lasting legacy for their families. When not working with clients, she can be found teaching, mentoring and counseling students, young practitioners and career changers to accelerate their success in the profession.
Trudy has served as a former President and Chair of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and is one of the 3 co-founders of the national FPA Diversity Committee. For the American Institute of CPAs, she has served on the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) Credentialing Committee, as well as the Executive Committee on Personal Financial Planning. Within her local community, Trudy is a board member of the Parkland Health Foundation, an advisory council member of the Dallas Foundation and she teaches in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Certificate Program at Southern Methodist University.
